Packaged food
Clearer information for packaged food products
Why package size, ingredients, dates, storage directions, and product photos matter to buyers.

Why package size, ingredients, dates, storage directions, and product photos matter to buyers.
01
List complete package details
Packaged food listings should identify the product name, net quantity, ingredient and allergen information where applicable, batch or lot, production and best-before or expiry information, storage instructions, producer or responsible business, units per carton, and available stock. Requirements vary by product and jurisdiction, so sellers must confirm the rules that apply to them.
02
Show the current product
Use clear current images of the front, back, seal, and relevant date or batch markings. Keep food-contact surfaces clean, separate raw material from finished goods, use safe water and suitable packaging, and maintain batch records. Damaged seals, swelling, leaks, contamination, or uncertain traceability should trigger isolation and qualified review rather than relabelling for sale.

03
Support every product claim
Nutrition, organic, fortified, origin, and certification claims must be specific and supported by current evidence. Identify the certification body and scope when relevant. Do not imply that Ashong has tested or certified a product unless an actual platform verification process has done so.
